Hafnartorg centre, is a part of Harbour Square that connects the old centre to the new cultural structure Harpa and blurs the lines between old and new Reykjavík. Moreover, the project, centred on seven distinct buildings, creates a public space that stimulates movement through the area, carried over from adjacent areas. A mix of shops, cafés, and restaurants, alongside residential apartments and modern office spaces, the Harbour Square project meets the need for office, retail, and living spaces in the popular downtown Reykjavík area. The site is an AAA-location, and where fashion, food, and culture come together in one concept. The development site is right on the waterfront, overlooking the Harpa Concert Hall & Conference Centre to the north, the harbour area to the west, a pedestrian area to the south, and historical and administrative buildings along with the Laugavegur shopping street to the east.

Downtown Reykjavík is a compact, pedestrian-friendly area where all necessary services are within easy reach on foot. Also, with an ample car park below ground, getting in and out of the city by car is easy.
